Happy Knitting Holidays Everyone! The Family of Snowmen is a great way to use up some stash while creating delightful "folk art" for your holidays. I was inspired by my favorite Christmas decoration, a family of stuffed tube sock snowmen my daughter Mary Margaret made when she was in first grade. My version is made up in Lumpy Bumpy Yarn by Charlene, Fatter Sheep Yarn, Mary's Little Lamb Light Worsted, Fat Sheep Yarn, and/or Farmhouse Silk Blend, and you can whip them up in just a couple of hours. From just one skein of any of the yarns, you can make one adult snowman or 2-3 child size snowmen. What fun to host a snowman making party at your shop to kick off the holidays! Diane Kapoor, local designer, has done it again. Her charming Evergreen Pillows pictured above are sure to be a festive addition to your seasonal decor. Knitted in I Am Allergic to Wool Bulky Cotton by Farmhouse Yarns, you can add other yarns from Farmhouse or from your stash for a variety of evergreen tree shades of green. Embellish with buttons, ribbons, fringe, sequins, or whatever you have on hand, and you will soon find yourself making one after another as everyone "oohs" and "aahs" over your project. These can be made in a variety of sizes ranging from potpourri or sachet stuffed variety on up to the larger 16" square pillow. They make great holiday gifts, too! The pattern and yarns are immediately available to ship to you. |
