Fall is definitely here, and the leaves are falling all around my farm. I love this time of year, as it inspires me with colors and the cool nights really get me in the mood to knit. We have two new designs ready for you. The Entrelac Bolster pillow is a great way to use up odds and ends of similar-weight yarns all in one project. Just 600 yards are required. The finished pillow measures approximately 18 inches wide, excluding tassles. My Fluffy Mittens design for adults has been so popular, I decided to offer it in children's sizes as well. With just one skein, you can make any size mitten from 2 years on up to 12 years of age. If you make the striped mittens as shown, of course, you will need 1 skein each of 2 contrasting colorways, but then you will have enough to make 2-3 pairs of mittens! One of my loyal customers asked me to put togther an assortment of the different yarns in the appropriate colors for her customers to make these darling pumpkins designed by local designer, Diane Kapoor. What a great idea--the pumpkins look best when made up with different shades of oranges and browns, and in the variety of textures when made up in Lumpy Bumpy Yarn by Charlene, Fatter Sheep Yarn, and even some of the original Farmhouse Yarns--Fat Sheep, Maude's Mountain Spun, Woodland Spun and Roxanne's Mohair! Some of the variegated yarns make the most interesting pumpkins. |
